How to Exploit the Power of Network Marketing and the Internet

1. Introductory Remarks
I have spent all my youth on the study and acquisition of knowledge of the ways of the great men and women in world history. I forewent many of the pleasures and temptations of youth to read a lot of literature, including several books. I have also watched and heard many inspirational movies, videos and talks. I am still doing all these. In fact, every moment I thirst for more information. Let me be honest with you here: I want power and influence; I want to be as powerful and influential as the men and women I fondly read about. In fact, God willing, I want to surpass the level of power they wielded.
And so – really most importantly – I endeavour to practise what I learn from the information I get, because, like Napoleon Hill said, in his great book Think and Grow Rich (1937), knowledge is not power, unless it is put to action (this is a very good book and I strongly recommend it to you). I therefore imitate those heroes and heroines of mine, because, like Nicolo Machiavelli said, in his book The Prince (1513), ‘A wise man ought always to follow the paths beaten by great men, and to imitate those who have been supreme, so that if his ability does not equal theirs, at least it will savour of it.’
In my yearning and search for knowledge, I came across the internet, which I started using seriously in about late 2005 or early 2006, during my senior six vacation. Whereas many of my friends visited the internet to simply watch pornography or look at beautiful girls, in the case of boys), I frequented the internet purposely for responsible and constructive engagement, like knowledge acquisition. I remember the World Bank website was my favourite. I visited it the most. I also regularly visited the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Transparency International (TI), among others. I have accumulated a lot of knowledge and acquired a great deal of learning that has led me to publishing several writings at a tender age. Today, I am glad to say that I have no regrets – absolutely none. I thank God and all people who helped me in more ways than one to make these achievements. I am aware that Alvin Toffler said that, ‘The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.’ I therefore, read and write more to avoid a learning deficit, because, as Alexander Pope said, ‘A little learning is a dangerous thing.’
Well, I am still a youth, as per Section 1(g) of The National Youth Council Act, Cap. 319, Laws of Uganda, Revised Edition 2000, but I am well aware that I won’t retain that status forever. As a matter of fact, I am soon joining the so-called middle-aged group of adults. This comes with full responsibility for my life's affairs. Very soon, I shall marry and have a family of my own. I have really big dreams to achieve, which I need not delve into here.
For me, this means that I need my own income; sufficient enough to enable me stand on my own and realize my potential. I have been thinking of means and ways of how to achieve this goal. In addition to practising as a lawyer, I have decided to join the business world, using two business tools – network marketing and the internet, through online business models. I hope to exploit these tools in order to achieve my financial goals.
2. On Network Marketing
The power of the market (especially free but regulated markets) to empower people and communities is clear, well understood and unprecedented. So is the ability of socio-economic networks for the same purposes. What remains to be fully appreciated and exploited is the linkage between networking and marketing, both as ideals for success in business. Now, a little insight on how the network marketing business model operates (i.e. how I understand it) will suffice. As far as I know, the first person to fully and strategically harness networking was Jesus Christ, who used a team of only twelve men to build a vast religious empire, whose growth and success has transcended anything else on earth, whether now or time immemorial. From just twelve committed followers by the time of His death, Jesus now has billions of others. Each of the twelve apostles found other followers by preaching the gospel of Jesus and those people found other followers by doing the same, such that a continuous chain-like process was formed. This process was carried on up to now and from the look of things, the number is still growing, unless He stops it by returning as He promised.
I dare to say that today, success in anything; be it business, politics, religion, charity, name it; is dependent on networks of people and systems. This became clear to me after reading such marvellous books as Rich Dad, Poor Dad (2000), by Robert Kiyosaki and Think Like a Billionaire (2004), by Donald Trump and after listening to these great men and many other motivational speakers. Then I realized that I need to get involved in network marketing so that I may build the potential and capacity to earn unlimited income, over unlimited space and time.
Network marketing is a business model that allows you to make virtually unlimited income, over an indefinite period of time and limitless space, through referrals. This business model is all about sharing opportunities with others. With it, those who are mean and selfish are doomed, as there is no place for them. It all begins with you, the person, who has something to sell or offer to others. Once you find an opportunity, your rate of success and benefit from it depends on how many people with whom you are involved in it. The higher the number, the more you benefit. For instance, in business, you get more people to do what you are doing and those ones also do the same by bringing others on board. The sequence continues indefinitely.
What joins those involved in the network is mutual benefit from whatever is being done. Everyone gains and so everyone is a winner for as long as the process continues. That is why you find that up to now, even Jesus is still benefitting from what He started, over two millennia ago. In business terms, when we are talking about money, the result is continuous earnings of unlimited income, over an indefinite period of time and limitless space, as long as the business idea or entity is still in place and operational in the area of concern – just like the gospel of Jesus is still around today, with people involved in spreading it to all places of the earth. The essence of and secret in network marketing is that you are able to achieve a lot, with little effort.
3. On the Internet
This brings me to the important question of harnessing the internet. Now, I have argued before (here http://bbbakampa.blogspot.com/2010/07/new-human-right-right-to-internet.html) that the internet is a very great resource, presenting us with huge potential. I wouldn’t like to engage in a detailed discussion of this matter here, since you can find that on the link provided, but suffice to say that the internet presents immense potential for intellectual and commercial attainment and advancement. It is a suitable and indispensable forum for sharing intellectual or business oriented ideas and definitely for advertising purposes. Unfortunately, we tend to underutilize this resource, most of the time, using it for petty things like gossip and displaying ourselves for the world to see; as though we were merchandize.
It should be noted that with the advent of the internet and its worldwide web interconnectedness, the era of working hard, in the traditional sense of the term that involves excessive muscle engagement, is greatly diminished, though certainly not done away with. Right now, we are in the era of working smart, because the internet has greatly enhanced the exploitation of our mental abilities and simplified person-to-person interaction especially, in terms of speed and cost; two critical factors.
4. Joint Exploitation of the Power of Network Marketing and the Internet
Nothing beats the power of combined forces, because it is trite that there is power in numbers. In this segment of the essay I discuss how we can jointly harness the opportunities presented by network marketing and those presented by the internet. I do this by using examples from some of the businesses that I am currently doing, for illustration purposes.
A. My Network Marketing Businesses
Lately I joined a company called Forever Living Products and two online businesses, Real Cash Graded Adverts (hereinafter ‘Real Cash,’ my business referral link of which is this http://realcashgradedadverts.com/?bbbakampa) and My Prosperous (hereinafter ‘My Prosperous,’ my business referral link of which is this http://www.myprosperous.com/?ref=BBBakampa) in order to harness the power and potential of network marketing. For now, I am in these ones, but I could join more others in the future, because money must be sought for in as many ways and means as possible under the sun, as long as they are legal and socially acceptable.
1. Forever Living Products
This is an American based company that is operating in over 150 countries, including Uganda. It manufactures and sells a wide range of very high quality personal and home use products. Many of our products include food nutrients. Just name any product you want and we shall be able to deliver it.
As a person registered and doing business with the company, you are given an amazing opportunity to make good income, through network marketing, in three combined ways, as follows:
(i) using the products yourself and receiving bonus money payments as a token of appreciation for buying and using the company products. Very few other companies in the world, if any, do this – paying you, for buying and receiving products;
(ii) selling the products to other people and the company gives you commission on each and every item sold out; and
(iii) through referrals, whereby the company pays you bonus money payments for every other person you bring into the business as a member and even pays you continuously for every other person brought by those you introduced. This is the network marketing aspect of the business.
It should be noted that once you register as a member, you earn in all the above ways, as they are not exclusive of one another. It is up to you to choose what you want. For instance, you may choose to do all of them – buy the products then use some of them personally; sell some of them to other people; and bring more members in the company. Or you could join and buy products for yours and your family use only, without selling to other people or bringing other people in the business. Or you could join, buy the products, use them and even bring more of your relatives and friends, without necessarily selling to them. There is only one common and absolute factor here: that you must personally use some or all of the products, for the simple reason that it is only then that you will be able to understand how effective they are, thus being able to confidently recommend them to other people. In any case, you also deserve the goodness and benefits that others get from them.
Now, I have met some people who say that they don’t need to join the company, because all they need is to buy and use the products. Well, this is okay in principle, because joining is voluntary. Nevertheless, it is my duty to inform you that you would benefit more from using the products as a member, for reasons that you buy at a subsidized price and you are actually paid commission for the products you buy and use. If nobody had told you of this all along, now you are lucky to know of and learn it from me. If for instance, you buy products from me as a distributor, we both gain in the sense that you take the product and I get paid, but the point I am making is that you could have benefited more if you were a member and buying yourself, because then you would get the product and receive bonus payment for buying them, as a token of appreciation.
So much for Forever Living Products Company. For sure, this company truly pays and rewards. I would urge you to join it. For more information, visit www.foreverliving.com. Look out for the company policy and other guidelines on the products we deal in. If you need to buy our products or better still, join the company, just call me on +256753124713 or send me an e-mail via firstname.lastname@example.org. I can deliver to both individuals and organizations.
B. My Online Businesses
I shall now speak about my online businesses. I am currently doing Real Cash and My Prosperous. I need not describe them at length here. I advise you to follow the above links to their websites, from where more information is provided precisely and concisely. But I can confirm that they are easy to join especially, in terms of cost. In the case of Real Cash, all you need is start-up capital of Uganda shillings twenty one thousand only (Ugx 21,000/=), the equivalent of United States dollars six only (US$ 6), at the standard online dollar rate of three thousand five hundred only (3500), while for My Prosperous, there are different share packages from which to buy, at very attractive interest rates. They are real and many people are earning big out of them.
Sadly though, there is a lot of hullabaloo about online businesses currently, after the collapse of Telexfree and others. People are unnecessarily sceptical of online businesses, saying all sorts of things for example, that they are scams, in which people have lost lots of money. Further, without any shred of evidence whatsoever, they also liken online businesses to gambling. But this kind of thinking is shallow and illogical, because in everyday life, businesses always collapse and people lose money in the process. That does not make businesses as a whole or the particular sectors involved, bad in any way. If that were so, by now we would have for example, likened all cars to those involved in road accidents so that on that account, all cars may be condemned, ignored and shunned.
Whereas it is generally okay for people to express their fears, it is important to remember the wise counsel of Matthew Stewart, that, ‘Without an open-minded mind, you can never become a great success.’ I cannot agree more. It is crucial that we always endeavour to be as flexible as possible. Online businesses are for instance, better than sports betting, because the rewards from the online businesses that I am recommending, are certain, unlike sports betting, where proceeds, in a country like Uganda, entirely depend on chance. If one bets on say, 10 games and only one is lost, but having predicted rightly on the other nine, all are lost as a result. This is unlike in Rwanda, where I am reliably informed government policy is that the bettor must be paid for those games rightly predicted.
To my mind, the uncalled for attack on online businesses, portrays not only a lack of understanding of the essence and purpose of the internet, but the functioning of economics as well. For example, those who say that doing online businesses is simply gambling, justify their claims, saying that there are no tangible commodities that are dealt in. Yet we know for sure, that for instance, banks and foreign exchange bureaus primarily transact, deal and trade in money. Does that make them scams? Surely not. We also know that the internet is by nature a service that facilitates transactions in other services like advertising. What is advertised is only, a depiction of the commodity that exists on ground. For one to feel, see or touch the commodity, he or she must move from cyberspace and find it on ground. Most online businesses are advertising agencies. This, as of itself, does not make them scams.
Online businesses also operate on the principle of network marketing. For example, Real Cash and My Prosperous pay me commissions on all payments made by people who join them through me. They can do it for you too. I therefore, urge you to register, pay up and join, so that we may grow and prosper together in these fantastic opportunities. Forget about the cynics. Those will always be there. Never mind them and whatever they say. They are merely dream killers. They shouldn’t derail you.
C. How I Use the Internet to Grow My Businesses
I use the internet to power my businesses, through advertising. I share the opportunities on internet sources like my blog, Facebook, twitter or e-mail, with many other people, calling upon them to join and partake of the benefits to be got in them as well. The internet has for instance, enabled me to get more people to join Real Cash and My Prosperous as my referrals. That means money for me.
Financial independence and stability have never been more relevant and necessary ever before, than in this day and age, which is characterized by high unemployment and job insecurity, due to factors like global economic upheavals and crises. In order to be relatively safe and secure, it is very important that one belongs to one or more network marketing circles. When multibillionaire Donald Trump was asked what he would do if all he had were destroyed, he said that he would find a good networking team and get back to work. He was booed and jeered by the audience for saying so and he reminded them that that is why he was where he is and all of them were where they were. Interesting!
But with the global convergence of people in virtual communities on the internet, nowadays traditional marketing networks alone cannot be fully efficient on their own. They must be computerized, so to speak, by giving them internet flavour. Hence, a combination of the two concepts, to achieve a common purpose: financial success and stability.
Quite frankly, for many people, network marketing and use of the internet for commercial benefit sound sophisticated and rather alien concepts. The result is a wholesome shunning of the former and underutilization of the latter, bordering on irresponsibility. I hope this essay will clarify these two concepts, with a view to demystifying their perceived sophistication and alienist attributes.
