Celebrating the Love of Friends in a Loving World

Celebrating the Love of Friends in a Loving World
Red Roses for You, My Sweet Friends ... Total Love.

My Sweet Friends

My sweet friends,

We grow closer to each other;

When we interact together and share ideas;

The common faith that we share,

Binds our hearts in one accord.

For sweet friendships last a life time,

When built on mutual respect, humility and understanding;

Throughout each different season,

We find we are one in life.

Sweet friends are there through times of grief;

And times when hope is gone;

Always there with encouragement;

So we can carry on.

I thank the Lord for you,

My true and faithful friends;

To fondly speak with you, whether we agree or not,

On this, our beloved blog;

For sweet friends will stay, no matter what;

Giving support.

Together, our hearts and minds truly unite;

With the amazing love of sweet friends.

In the spirit of true friendship,

Best wishes, my sweet friends;

May the Lord bless you abundantly.

I remain, yours truly,

B.B. Bakampa.

Meeting with Parliament's Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs

Friends International – Uganda,
Kampala, Uganda.

Thursday, 5th March, 2015.
The Right Honourable Speaker,
Parliament of the Republic of Uganda,
Plot 16-18 Parliament Avenue,
P.O Box 7178, Kampala, Uganda.

Dear Madam Speaker,

Re: Meeting with the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs

On Tuesday, 3rd March, 2015, we, the Complainants, in the Complaint Against the Under-Performance of the Law Development Centre, currently undergoing investigation by this august House, had the benefit and pleasure of appearing before the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, to present our submissions in the matter.

It was a very wonderful experience appearing before and interacting with the Honourable Committee Members. They listened to us attentively, were quite knowledgeable of the issues at hand, and were pleasantly and informatively engaging. In all honesty, it was an afternoon well spent. We thank very much the Committee Members for their constructive interaction with us.

On a sad note however, Committee Members unanimously took exception to my letter addressed to you, entitled ‘Questionable Integrity of the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs,’ dated Friday, 27th February, 2015. They also expressed displeasure and reservations in the annexure accompanying it, entitled, ‘The Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs is Unserious, Biased and Just a Joke,’ dated Thursday, 26th February, 2015, reporting on the Committee’s proceedings of Wednesday, 25 February 2015. After a thorough and exhaustive discussion of these documents, we realized that the documents arose out of a misunderstanding of the Committee and its membership.

I therefore wish to retract the letter, and the annexure to it, and I hereby do so. We are very sorry to the Committee, and especially, the Members personally affected. Please, forgive us.

Madam Speaker, we also apologize to you for casting your Honourable Committee into disrepute. Please, forgive us.

Otherwise, the meeting was very educative and fruitful. It was indeed a privilege, and an honour, to appear before the Committee. We hope it grants our prayers in the complaint and submissions.

Yours faithfully,

[signed]

Bakampa Brian Baryaguma
